What is the ShakeDown Project.

In 2005 after returning from University, Moot with the help from his chums, started an event called Free Draw Preston. We erected a small temporary wall and gathered 5 Artists to have a jam. Aswell as this we supplied drawing material for the public, so passers by could join in too. It was an instant hit, so we decided to carry on and make it an annual event. Since then the re-named event, The ShakeDown Project has grown to host 10 - 15 artists and 700 - 1000 public scribblers. Not bad for a breezy sunday!

The aims of the ShakeDown are simple, to get the city folk interacting on a creative level, no rules, and no lines to stay in. We want to show what is being done all over the world to an audiance that doesnt get chance to see it. Real creative talent as it happens. This year, 2009 will be the 5th event and we will be celebrating by holding a big pre or after party, with an art auction, give aways, body painting??? and loads of rad music. So keep your eyes open for that treasure of info.
